May 24, 2005 (Tokyo) - MIRACLE LINUX CORPORATION (Headquarter: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Takeshi Sato) (hereinafter referred to as MIRACLE LINUX), and Stratus Technologies Japan Inc. (Headquarter: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Masatoshi Nagai) (hereinafter referred to as Stratus Japan) announced today the strategic alliance between MIRACLE LINUX's Linux server OS (operating system), "MIRACLE LINUX" and Stratus's fault-tolerant server, "ftServer®".

The alliance enables the first combination of a Linux server OS, "MIRACLE LINUX" and a fault-tolerant server*. Also for Stratus Japan, it is the first alliance with an enterprise-based Linux OS and by collaborating with MIRACLE LINUX, which has an outstanding technologies and supporting capabilities as a Japanese domestic Linux vendor, will strengthen stability and security for network DB system environment which market needs are enhancing. By mutually reinforcing high stability and reliability of both company's software and hardware enables to deliver reliable solutions for the mission-critical businesses in the enterprise Linux market. Product verification by the two companies is already ongoing and Stratus Japan's ftServer series will be released in the future as an "ftServer M series" (tentative name) loading MIRACLE LINUX's "MIRACLE LINUX V4.0 - Asianux Inside".

1. MIRACLE LINUX's first alliance with fault-tolerance server in the Linux market strengthens the hardware side in which will be a differentiator from the third party's Linux products.

2. By adding enterprise Linux-based OS loaded server to Stratus Japan's server product series, enhances competitiveness from product's diversity, stability and security improvement as well as product prices.

3. MIRACLE LINUX, as an Oracle Corporation's subsidiary has been focusing on product development for database usage, offering a high quality consultation services since its establishment, achieving stirring performance and high reliability as an Oracle platform. Assembling with Stratus Japan's "ftServer", both companies will gain a huge advantage in the market of Linux platform and database markets, and will aim to be as a de facto standard of mission- critical business system.

4. MIRACLE LINUX is expanding its business not only in Japan but also in the Asian market. As a part of Asian market business, MIRACLE LINUX announced the alliance for the 3 companies joint project, "Asianux®" with China's Red Flag Software and Korea's Haansoft. Starting from the Japanese market, MIRACLE LINUX will aim to expand its Stratus's fault-tolerant server business to the Asian market.
