MIRACLE LINUX Launches e-Japan Monitor Program
- Planning to develop products for facilitating implementation of the e-Japan strategy -
MIRACLE LINUX Corporation (headquartered at 4-1-30 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo, headed by Takeshi Sato, President) announced today that it will start the e-Japan Monitor Program for central and local governments and other public offices as well as related system integrators as of today. This program aims to enhance reliability and functions of Linux toward the realization of the e-Japan strategy.
Linux is rapidly penetrating the domestic market and has been implemented by not only companies for their operational systems but also governments and public offices for promoting the e-Japan strategy. In doing so, governments and public offices are facing challenges in securing information protection, offering guaranteed support and measures against failures, and making the system accommodate Japanese characters and external code. In response to these challenges, Miracle Linux, by focusing on the special requirements of government offices, will offer the e-Japan Monitor Program as part of its effort to develop MIRACLE LINUX products to meet their needs.
The following functions are currently scheduled to be incorporated in the next version or a special version of MIRACLE LINUX for the e-Japan Strategy.
- Capability to accommodate large-scale organizational changes by using LDAP.
- Capability to manage a large amount of forms by using business form software.
- Capability to accommodate external and SJIS codes.
This program to be offered nationwide provides Linux-based MIRACLE LINUX Standard Edition V2.1 free of charge conditionally to participating government and public offices, which will in turn submit a report summarizing possible requirements for the implementation of Linux. Participants receive technical information and results of the monitor program as soon as such information becomes available. This program will help governments and public offices to more easily establish an environment to implement a Linux-based system that will enable them to reap the benefits of enhanced technology.
